Writer, Reader, Dreamer, Gypsy
I was born in Warwickshire, lived and worked in a number of cities in Europe - London, Brighton, Vienna, Munich, Athens - before finding a home in Los Angeles, California. I'm presently back in Warwickshire, in Stratford-upon-Avon, William Shakespeare's old 'hood, twenty miles from where I was born. They're very different, LA and Stratford, but I consider both of these places "home."

I'm a journalist, have also worked in PR, but recently I've been concentrating on fiction and that is much more fun. I can make things up! Without consequences!
I write contemporary fiction that doesn't fit into any particular genre, though many of the journals that have published my stories describe themselves as 'literary.' I like psychological tension, damaged characters. The stories are not, as a few readers seem to believe, all based on my own life. I have never, for example, been a compulsive shoplifter, had an Elvis impersonator for a stepfather or plotted to kill my dad, though I've written stories about all of these characters. Maroon Knickers, linked below, is pure fiction of course. Or is it?
